Si votre humidificateur est entartré, nous vous conseillons simplement d'utiliser du vinaigre blanc et de l'eau. Diluez le vinaigre dans 50% à 60% d'eau, laissez agir 10 à 20 minutes et rincez. Attention de ne pas rincer à grande eau, au risque d'introduire de l'eau dans la partie électronique (ce qui endommagerait votre appareil). Vous pouvez également utiliser des produits spécialisés, comme Cleaner&Descaler de Stadler Form.
Avec un humidificateur ultrasonique, la vapeur se diffuse dans la pièce au moyen d'un petit ventilateur dont l'entrée d'air est, dans la plupart des cas, située sous l'appareil. Il faut donc vérifier que rien ne bouche cette entrée d'air. Par exemple, évitez de poser l'appareil sur une moquette, un tapis ou un linge. De plus, veillez à contrôler la température de la pièce : si elle est trop froide, la vapeur de votre humidificateur va retomber autour de l'appareil. Il faut donc le rapprocher d’une source de chaleur ou le placer un peu plus en hauteur. Enfin, nous vous conseillons de baisser la puissance de la vapeur.
