Formaldehyde
Formaldehyde is an organic compound classified as a carcinogen for humans upon repeated exposure. In addition to its carcinogenic effects, formaldehyde is highly irritating to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract.
Formaldehyde can be found in most French homes, particularly in:
- Building, decorating, and furniture materials,
- Cleaning products, paints, varnishes, adhesives, cosmetics...
- Scented candles, air fresheners, incense...
Some combustion appliances, such as stoves and boilers, also produce formaldehyde.
To effectively combat formaldehyde, you can use an air purifier to filter your air.
