Ozone O3

Ozone (O3) is a gas present in the Earth's atmosphere, forming a layer several kilometers thick at altitudes between 20 and 50 km. This ozone layer primarily absorbs UV (ultraviolet) rays emitted by the Sun, protecting living beings from harmful effects.

However, ozone is also a toxic gas that can cause numerous respiratory complications. In the lower atmosphere, ozone forms under the influence of UV solar radiation, particularly on hot days, in the presence of significant concentrations of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds.

Some air purifiers, such as piezoelectric ionizers, can generate ozone. Note: None of the products presented on this site generate ozone.
