Mold
Mold consists of microscopic fungi that are naturally present in the air. It enters homes through air currents and can be brought in by humans or pets. Mold primarily develops in response to humidity, at certain temperatures, and in the presence of nutrients.
It is typically found on decaying materials, such as dead vegetation, and in humid environments like bathrooms (on shower and bathtub seals), kitchens (around sinks), and basements. Mold can appear as filaments or spots.
Using a dehumidifier is an effective way to limit mold growth, helping to maintain a healthy indoor environment.
