National Institute for Public Health Surveillance (INVS)
The National Institute for Public Health Surveillance (INVS) was a French public health agency that existed from 1998 to 2016. It was replaced by the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), which is attached to the Ministry of Health.
The main mission of INVS was to:
- Monitor the health evolution of the French population for epidemiological purposes,
- Perform health surveillance,
- Gain an in-depth understanding of health risks.
INVS played a key role in the surveillance and management of public health crises in France.
