Greenhouse Gases (GHG)
Greenhouse Gases (GHG) are harmful gases that absorb a portion of the infrared rays emitted by the Sun and redistribute them as heat within the Earth's lower atmosphere, a phenomenon known as the greenhouse effect. This natural process is intensified by human activity and pollution, contributing to air pollution peaks and global warming.
There are about forty greenhouse gases, including:
- Water Vapor (H2O)
- Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
- Methane (CH4)
- Ozone (O3)
- Nitrous Oxide (N2O)
- Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC)
- Perfluorocarbons (PFC)
- Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6)
GHGs are responsible for various environmental impacts, including global warming.
