There are two types of cool mist humidifiers (also called cold steam humidifiers): Ultrasonic humidifier: a condenser or an ultrasonic plate turns water into micro fine mist which is then thrown in the room thanks to a fan where it immediately evaporates. Evaporator: evaporators are equipped with a special evaporation pad which soaks up water. A fan draws dry air through the moistened pad and recirculates it -properly humidified- back into the room. During this process the air is simultaneously cleaned from dust and other airborne particles.
